the fair

Well with summer comes the fair. So this year we thought it would be fun for each of us to enter some things. It turned out to be a ton of fun! Both boys entered their pine wood derby cars and they both got a 3rd place on them. Wyit tied a fly and got a second place and Kwaid entered a drawing and his doll that he made. He got second on the picture and first on the doll. I entered a sewing project and a tatting project and got a second and third. It was really neat to go to the fair and see things we had done. The boys are very excited to do it again next year! They are even thinking that maybe they will take their ducks. It turned out to be a great family thing to do together. Hopefully next year Bryan will be able to get some things done too.

Wyit Alan Garrett

Wyit is the last of the boys to share with all of you. He is a great kid! He is the every thing perfect kid. Any thing and every thing he tries he is good at and he thinks he has to do it perfectly to be successful. He is a sports wiz and loves baseball and football.

One of Wyit's favorite past times is reading. He loves outdoor adventure books and his favorite author is Gary Paulson. Last year we wanted to get him a set of books that he could enjoy throughout the school year so we bought all 7 of the Hatchet books. Wyit had them all read in just under 2 months. He got so into them that he was dreaming about what would happen next. The set didn't even come close to lasting the school year. So with no books left some one finally convinced him to read Harry Potter he wasn't excited but thought he would give it a try. 2 weeks later he had finished the first one and started the second. Needless to say he has read the first 3 and enjoyed them too.

Wyit recently obtained a new talent in fly tying. He took a class at school and loved it. He has tied several flies and caught several fish with them. He will sit for hours and meticulously wrap them and make them just right. He is a great shot with his bow and pellet gun. Recently he killed his first rabbit. Lunch was served. We will never worry about going hungry with our three boys around!

We love you Wyit and think you are wonderful. We are proud of all you have accomplished!

Brandon William Garrett

There is so much to say about all the boys that I could just write and write.

Brandon is our oldest boy. He is such a wonderful young man with an outstanding personality. He can make us laugh and keep us laughing with some of the crazy things he thinks about. He works hard when he is given the chance to have a job and plays even harder. This summer has been such a great one for us!

Brandon loves to ride his motorcycle in the mountains. He knows all the trails and even some trails that aren't really there. He loves to take a gun or bow into the woods when he goes so that he can hunt at the same time. He is an excellent rider and has really worked hard to become good. He got a late start with motorcycles since he only started riding last year, but that has not slowed him down a bit.

He is also a great shot with what ever he is shooting. This summer popa Roger gave him his first compound bow and he has already practiced enough that I think he could kill a deer. He doesn't know I was watching through the kitchen window while he practiced from every angle. He even climbed onto a ladder and shot while balancing on that.

Brandon is so wonderful to his little brothers. Kwaid is a teaser and Brandon's patience to on forever. You can see every day how much Wyit and Kwaid love him and that they look up to him for what ever they are doing. They miss him so much when he is gone. We all do.

We love you Brandon and are so proud of you. You have not had it easy the last little while and you are coming out on top. Keep going and keep Heavenly Father close to you. We will miss you.

Kwaid Ray Garrett

So I really loved reading about each one of Kristin's kids and all the little things they do and like. I thought it was a great idea and wanted to share a little bit about ours too. I guess I will go backward from youngest to oldest because I know exactly were Kwaid's pictures are and they are easy for me to upload. I know its a dumb reason but it works for me.

So Kwaid is our imagination gone crazy child. If there is another world connected to this one were life is all fun and you can make it up as you go that is were Kwaid spends most of his time. He can keep himself busy for hours with make believe. He loves to pretend that he is lost in the woods. He can build a fire with a flint and steel and thinks that an island mission would be the perfect place for him. He is a perfect shot with a bow and arrow or a sling shot the local birds know to keep their distance when he is in the field.

Kwaid is not really right or left handed he uses them both about equal. It has given him a great advantage in learning the piano and his teacher thinks he is picking it up very fast. He loves to speak spanish and has started to talk circles around me. He also picked up sign language really well and loves to use that when ever he gets a chance.

He is captivated by pirates and vampires and loves to pretend to be one or both at the same time. Every time we see a really great movie he becomes his favorite character. He has been captain Jack sparrow, Jedadiah smith, Elvis and Indiana Jones. He desperately wants a bull whip, but I just dont see how any thing good can come from it.

His favorite things to eat are veggies. Yes you read that correctly! If it is green chances are he will love it. Raw spinach and bell peppers are his favorite. He works very hard at the garden so that he can get his veggies.

He is a special child and we love him so much. He keeps us laughing and guessing what will come next. He has wanted a boston terrier for about 5 years and last year we finally broke down and got him one. Bella is his good friend and most of the time they are together in their adventures. Kwaid we love you and are very blessed to have you!

We took some great photos of the boys out in the yard and want to share them too!

Wyit's Arrow of Light

Wyit has been working his little tail off in scouts and it has paid off. Tonight he got his arrow of light and advanced into boy scouts. His plaque is beautifu and shows his hard work. We are so proud of him and all that he has done. Webelos was a lot of hard work and he really had to make the effort to earn his awards. He also recieved the Webelos 20 award and the religious square knot.

Kwaid has been working hard in scouts as well. He earned several belt loops and pins along with some segment awards. He is only three chapters away from getting his Bobcat and Wolf badges so we are really proud of him for all his hard work.

Driving

So I think we told you all that Brandon got his learners permit. We are proud of him. I think it gave him a boost in confidence too. He has been logging his driving hours so that when he is 16 he can get the real thing.

His car likes are pretty extreme. So the first car we bought him was a Shelby GT. Yes we went ford. He said that he loves ford so we thought what the heck we will get him what he wants. Sure it is a little small to take the family for a spin, but I guess if he wants more he will need a full time job...or two!
